Making Moments Matter

What’s your story?

They say business isn’t personal, but in my case, it is (in the best way possible!). A bit about me—I started CTMP because I wanted to share my passion for visual storytelling with others. More people need access to a photographer, from a place that represents them and puts them in the best light (for real). People matter and stories matter- and there is no better way to capture life’s moments than through photographs. Pictures are snapshots, photographs are stories.

For nearly a decade, I have continued to grow a passion for higher education. A majority of that time has been in a variety of professional roles. A theme in this particular career is promoting self-care amongst students, and as a staff member, try and model that behavior. I’ve always been fascinated by taking pictures of places I visit, events that occur, and moments that I think I will want to look back on. In 2017, I purchased my first camera. Much so on a whim, just having an inkling that because I enjoyed taking pictures on a phone or iPad, that this may be an outlet for me to take on a new hobby. At the time, I was a Residence Director. I had to prioritize time to do something I enjoyed that didn’t involve work. Since that time, I have continued to tell myself I should start my own photography business. If you have a skill, a passion, and a combination of the two is something you are good at-why not give it a try?

Fast forward and here we are-starting a business with a mission to make moments matter. Promoting that people should not only live in the moment, but capture those moments as well because it truly is important. The good and the bad, photographs are invaluable treasures that hold some of the most powerful ways to our heart. I hold onto photographs because each one is a story in and of itself. The ability to transport in time and in a strange way, sense the same feelings you had in the exact moment you had before. I move forward launching Capture the Moment Photography to provide an authentic, realistic, and optimistic experience to not overlook the present. To encourage others to recognize, and value, the moments we all live in truly matter. As such, those moments deserve to be captured so our stories can be told far longer, and have a greater impact, than keeping stories to ourselves.

So as you join me on this journey-I encourage you to take today to make it matter. Each moment-recognize its beauty and turn I wish into I will. If you’re ready to make the moment matter-let’s connect. Maybe it’s for you, a child, a partner, a family member, or a friend. Life is so busy, we are in a culture where we don’t stop. Photographs can absolutely cause you to pause and reflect. Invest in yourself and your story now, while you are still in the moment. That’s my story, what’s yours?

Until next time,

Tim
